DESCRIPTION:
WW - Universal Genève Uni-Compax chronograph, manual wind, 34mm x 42mm to lug tips, 20mm lug width, original 18K yellow gold snap back case, unfortunately at some point the case back was lost and it was replaced with a stainless steel one signed Baume Mercier, expandable gold-filled bracelet, refinished silvered dial with applied gold numerals and tachymeter scale along perimeter, two inset subregisters for minute recording and subsidiary seconds, 17J cal 285, s#223626, triple signed. Would make an excellent watch for someone who wanted the look of a much more expensive watch or for a watchmaker that has a loose 18K gold case back for this particular model.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, chronograph functions and resets properly, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, light oxide to steelwork, light spotting and discoloration to gilt plates; fine dial with numerous small paint flecks on dial perimeter; excellent hands; polished case shows light wear, still retains some of its original factory finishing on case sides, missing case back, several light dings on sides and bezel; replacement crown shows medium wear; good plastic crystal.
